Blood Donor Dogs Needed

Sun States: Blood Banks for Animals relies on the generosity of our guardian donors to enroll their companion animals and bring their loved ones to us during our blood drives.  All donors are pre-screened for major health issues and only those that meet our minimum physical and health requirements are enrolled into our blood donation program.

How you can help ...

If you live in the South Florida area and would like to volunteer your dog or cat (or both!) to be a blood donor to help other injured or sick companions in need, please ensure your companion meets the following criteria:

bulletHealthy and even-tempered, well-behaved, and good with veterinary exams

You may contact our staff to assist you with any questions you may have or to make an appointment to donate blood.  We will either encourage you to attend one of our regularly scheduled blood drives or you can make arrangements to have blood drawn from your dog from one of our participating collections sites.  There is no cost to you, or health-risk to your dog, in donating blood.
